The 2012 NRL Draw

By taking a look at each teams NRL draw you can get an idea of the strength of their schedule. With the way the NRL draw works, some teams on paper look to have a tougher or easier draw than others. Coming into this season the leading Online Bookmakers have the Wests Tigers as favourites to win the competition followed by the Melbourne Storm and Newcastle Knights. Time will tell if these three teams are the ones to beat but assuming that they are let's take a look which teams play these three the most.

The Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys and Canterbury Bulldogs respective draw's see them playing the Tigers, Storm and Knights twice, one home game and one away game. At the other end of the scale the Manly Sea Eagles will play the Knights twice and the Tigers and Storm only once with both of those games being at home. The Warrior play the Storm twice, Tigers once (away) and Knights once (home) while the Gold Coast Titans play Tigers x 1, Storm x 2, Knights x 1 and Sydney Roosters play Tigers x 2, Storm x 1 and Knights x 1.

Of the remaining sides the Sharks and Broncos play the Tigers x 1, Storm & Knights x 2. The Dragons, Eels and Rabbitohs play Tigers & Knights x 2, Storm x 1 and the Panthers play Tigers & Storm x 2 and Knights x 1.

How much difference these variations in schedules will make is difficult to say. No doubt many coaches would prefer Manly's draw against these three teams over their own though.
